If you make one resolution today, then make a promise to lose a certain amount of weight by the end of the year. You see - in all probability, you have been gulping tons of tablets everyday. Don't you want a relief from these tablets? Well, let me tell you that if you lose even one pound today, you will see at least one mmHg drop in your blood pressure. Ultimately you will notice that you have become the healthy person you were once upon a time, and you won't need to depend on any tablet for survival.
And if high blood pressure is not enough for you, obese people also suffer from high blood cholesterol. As a matter of fact, blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, and obesity have been grouped as the deadly trio. If you suffer from one of these diseases, you have a very remote chance of survival and you may also face an early death. If you suffer from two or all the three diseases then brace yourself for some real trouble. Be ready to face a heart attack or stroke some time soon!
And lastly, let me ask you: how do you measure your weight? By weighing yourself in scales? Well, then it is time to bend the rules. Instead of weighing yourself on the scales, measure your waistline with a tape. You won't get a measure of your body weight, but you will get an exact measure of how far you are from the imminent death. Experts point out that people, especially men, tend to accumulate extra fat around their midriff; hence, the fatter the midriff of a person, the sooner he is likely to die! If you know somebody who has died because of stroke, take a look at their waistline. You might be in for a very pleasant surprise!
If your waistline is more than normal (normal waistline for men is 35 inches and that for women is 33 inches) then it is time to take some action. If you have a waistline of 40 inches then don't delay! Don't wait until there is no more time to fix your problems. Start losing a pound right from this week and you will soon see how easy it is to lose twenty pounds! Don't think that weight loss is optional; in fact, obesity is a serious killer and the sooner you take the appropriate measures to fight it, the longer you will be able to survive!
